About Us

The Marching Cougars take a symphonic as well as show style approach to marching band.  Our goal is to deliver quality sound and entertaining performance by employing superior musicianship combined with disciplined visual excellence.  This level of intensity must be achieved through collective effort and committed work ethic.  Precision is a direct result of student leaders taking ownership of the band, supported by experienced staff and dedicated parents.  In order to maintain the level of excellence that the Marching Cougars have worked to achieve, the entire ensemble must have unified approach to performance.  Understanding this unified approach is the first step in realizing excellence.

We believe in promoting the excellence of the band by supporting the success of each section and individual.  Success is only attained through sustained effort and that excellence can only be achieved through collective commitment.

We believe that the band as a whole is a reflection of the individual efforts of its members.  Therefore, collective excellence is only possible when individual band members strive for personal excellence.

We believe that musicianship, precision, and showmanship are significant, and we reflect this passion in every rehearsal and performance.  As we work to perfect our art, we acknowledge the worth in mistakes as a means of improvement.

We believe in the value of every individual and we recognize the importance of each contribution to the success of the band.  We choose to resolve conflict and appreciate our diversity with a focus on the common goal of excellence.

We believe that student leaders are critical in inspiring and motivating the band towards excellence.  Effective leadership enriches relationships and elevates each band member while advancing the cause of the band family.
